CCCA Resources

For everyone

CCCA’s YouTube channel provides access to older webinars we have hosted. The content, whether it covers inventorying, deaccessioning, or the care and maintenance of historic museum buildings, is evergreen!

Scholarship for Emerging Professional and Student Members

Purpose and Criteria for Selection: The CCCA Scholarship is intended to support professional development for new collections care professionals.  This scholarship can be used to pay for a workshop registration or webinar fee, or to support your presence at a conference.  We define “collections care” fairly broadly but encourage you to reach out in advance to discuss the appropriateness of the specific professional development opportunity for which you are seeking support.

Eligibility: This funding opportunity is open to CCCA Emerging Professional and Student members only and is intended to support members who do not have access to professional development funding through their workplace.  Preference will be given to members who have demonstrated active engagement with the CCCA’s own professional development and networking opportunities.

Scholarship award: The maximum award per member per year is $500.  Members may apply during both funding cycles if they have not reached the maximum.

The CCCA Board will award up to $1,000 in 2024 and each January will determine and publicize how much funding is available for that year.

Funding will be allocated to qualifying applicants on a first come, first served basis.

Application deadline and requirements: Two deadlines:  February 15th and July 15th

Please apply at least a month before the professional development opportunity is scheduled to take place.

For registration fees and other straightforward requests, CCCA may pay directly; for travel expenses you will be reimbursed after submitting proof of payment for expenses incurred.  Reimbursements will be made within two weeks of submitting receipts. Receipts must be submitted by November 30, 2024 to allow time for the Treasurer to process the payment before the end of the fiscal year.

To apply, send a letter requesting support to the CCCA Board.  The letter should include specific information about the professional development opportunity, a link to details about the opportunity, and an explanation of how it will help advance your career in collections care.

Scholarship recipients will be asked to share what they learned at a subsequent “Conversations with Colleagues.”  This sharing can be a verbal report or a more formal presentation, depending what form of information-sharing you wish to practice.

The letter should be emailed as an attachment to collectionscarealliance@gmail.com.  We welcome your questions to the same address.
