Presented by CCCA Member Deborah Howe
Join Deborah Howe, Collections Conservator at Dartmouth College Library, to learn about best practices of book care and other facts and tips on paper based collections. Ever wonder how to get that musty smell out of books or how to shelve and store your favorite volumes? This presentation will address frequently asked questions about home libraries as well as libraries housed in public spaces.
Deborah is the Collections Conservator at Dartmouth College Library, where she has been for over fifteen years. Previously, she directed the conservation lab at Northwestern University Library. She has taught book arts at Columbia Center for Paper and Book, the Newberry Library, the Paper and Book Intensive and currently teaches binding classes at the Book Arts Workshop at Dartmouth. She is a long-standing member of the Guild of Book Workers and is on the board of directors for the Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory and Educational Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio
