Refresher on Collections Handling

We all, even – especially – those who handle collection items regularly can benefit from a periodic reminder of how best to handle different types of materials to minimize the risk of damage.  We will discuss various scenarios, including storage, retrieval, research use, and exhibition for archival and artifactual items.  And yes, when to wear what kind of glove.  Bring your questions! Rachel Onuf of the VHRP (and CCCA Board of Directors) will be presenting.

Rokeby Museum is hosting a series of three FREE collections management workshops this summer as a component of a grant they received from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership (CVNHP).  This is the second in the series and will be held IN PERSON at Rokeby (exciting!) Please note the workshop will be offered twice, from 10-12 and 2-4. Feel free to bring a lunch and stay late or come early, depending on which session you attend.
