DEALING WITH MOLD IN YOUR COLLECTIONS -- VIRTUAL WORKSHOP

Co-Sponsored by the Collections Care & Conservation Alliance and the Vermont Historical Society

Presenters:
Carolyn Frisa, Owner and Head Conservator, Works on Paper, LLC
Rachel Onuf, Director, Vermont Historical Records Program
Erica Donnis, Special Collections Director, Champlain College

Worried about mold on your collections or in your building? Historic materials and architecture are especially susceptible to mold growth this time of year, which can cause staining and structural weakening and be a hazard to staff and visitors. Learn how to prevent mold from forming, what to do if you find mold, and how to protect yourself. Presenters will discuss low-cost environmental and storage solutions, materials and methods to remediate mold, and guidelines for when to call in professionals.

This virtual workshop is offered by the Collections Care & Conservation Alliance, a network of conservation and preservation professionals in Vermont and neighboring states, in conjunction with the Vermont Historical Society. This inaugural program of the CCCA is free and open to all with pre-registration. If you have any questions, please email us at collectionscarealliance@gmail.com.
