Ask a Conservator Q&A Session

Friday, November 1, is Ask a Conservator Day, organized by the American Institute for Conservation.  Ask a Conservator Day follows in the spirit of the international collaboration and exchange of knowledge that grew out of the historic flooding of Florence, Italy, on November 4th, 1966. Events will be held worldwide on this day, in person, virtually, and across social media to allow conservators to share their work and roles in cultural heritage preservation with the public.

Join our panel of professional conservators for this free and informal question-and-answer session hosted by CCCA to help celebrate AIC's Ask A Conservator Day.

Do you have questions about what conservators do? Specific questions about items in your collection? Would you like to know more about how to become a conservator? Wondering what types of lighting and other environmental conditions are safest and what should be avoided?

A group of CCCA conservator members will be available to answer your questions and share helpful tips about textiles, objects, photographs, sculpture, paper, painted surfaces, historic buildings, and more.

If you would like to submit a question ahead of time, you can enter it at the end of this form. You are also welcome to ask questions live during the event!

Pre-registration is required and a Zoom link for the meeting will be sent to you closer to the meeting date. Space in the workshop is limited to 100 participants. Please register by Monday October 28th. Please note, this webinar will not be recorded.

The cost of this virtual Q&A session  is FREE!
